4 kW with braking — the FSB flagship

At 4 kW, the FSB frame transitions from natural convection to forced-air cooling — an internal fan draws approximately 510 mA from the 24 V DC rail. The AB0 braking chopper adds the ability to connect an external braking resistor (minimum 80 Ω for FSB) for controlled motor deceleration. This combination — the highest FSB power, active cooling, and brake control — makes the 1XH64-0AB0 the most fully specified drive in the FSB frame. It is the right choice for a 4 kW conveyor section that faces both a demanding mechanical load and a braking requirement: an inclined belt conveyor with heavy product, a lift station, or an indexing table with a large rotating mass.

1XH64 AB0 — the FSB ceiling with brake control

The 1XH64 sub-code identifies this hardware revision of the 4 kW FSB platform. The integrated braking chopper is rated for an 80 Ω minimum external resistor at 10 W continuous dissipation. In practice, this means the drive can handle cyclic braking on a declining conveyor section without the DC-link voltage rising to the trip threshold — the external resistor absorbs the regenerated energy that the drive's internal capacitors cannot store. For a 4 kW motor decelerating a loaded conveyor, that braking energy is substantial enough that a drive without the AB0 chopper would trip on overvoltage after repeated stops.
