The selectable PD algorithm offers smoother temperature management than simple ON-OFF control, making it suitable for ovens, extruders, and packaging machinery where tight thermal regulation and electrical reliability are required.

Proportional-Derivative (PD) Control

• Selectable PD or ON/OFF Algorithm: The PD mode anticipates temperature changes by reacting to the rate of change (derivative action) in addition to the measured deviation (proportional action). This prevents thermal overshoot during startup and provides smoother regulation in continuous heating applications.
• Adjustable Hysteresis and Proportional Band: Both the hysteresis (applicable in ON/OFF mode) and the proportional band (applicable in PD mode) can be adjusted to match the equipment's thermal inertia. A wider band suits slow-response systems like large ovens, while a tighter band is suitable for fast-response heating blocks.

Sensor Break Protection and Electrical Specifications

• Sensor Break Cutoff: If the Pt100 probe experiences an open circuit or a short circuit, the controller immediately cuts power to the load relay. This prevents runaway heating that could damage both the equipment and the product being processed.
• Output Options: The standard model provides a relay output rated for up to 8A at 250VAC—suitable for direct activation of heating contactors, solenoid valves up to ~2 kW, or as a pilot signal for external power controllers. A companion model, XCT1S0, provides an SSR drive output for applications requiring high-speed switching without mechanical wear.
• Compact 48x48mm Format: The 1/16 DIN panel cutout allows the XCT100 to fit into densely packed control cabinets alongside motor protectors, contactors, and circuit breakers. Connections are made via an unmarked base socket that simplifies pre-wiring before panel installation.
