The DITEL Syros SX48 is a compact dual-display PID temperature regulator designed for cost-effective temperature control in industrial applications. With a front panel measuring 48 × 48 mm and a depth of only 62 mm, it is one of the smallest PID temperature regulators on the market, suitable for shallow control panels and space-constrained installations. The dual display simultaneously shows the process value (PV) and set value (SV), while the simplified menu structure enables easy programming and commissioning.

Flexible Input and Control Options

• Universal Input Compatibility: The SX48 accepts Pt100 RTD probes and a wide range of thermocouples—J, K, R, B, S, T, E, N, and PLII—covering a temperature measurement range from −200 °C to +1800 °C. A single controller can replace multiple variants in the spares inventory.
• Auto-Tuning PID with Fuzzy Control: The controller offers ON/OFF or PID control with auto-tuning and fuzzy logic. The auto-tuning function automatically calculates optimal PID parameters during commissioning, while fuzzy control dynamically suppresses overshoot caused by rapid temperature changes or load fluctuations—particularly effective for low-inertia, media-contact processes such as sealing bars, packaging equipment, and hot runner nozzles.
• 200 ms Control Cycle: Output is updated every 200 ms, providing fast response to temperature deviations and minimizing overshoot during startup and load changes.

Output Configuration and Functional Features

• Relay or SSR Output: The SX48 can be specified with a relay output (SPST 3 A at 250 V AC) for direct drive of contactors and solenoid valves, or with a pulse SSR output for noiseless, high-speed switching of external solid-state relays.
• Single Alarm Output: One independent SPST relay (1 A at 250 V AC) is provided as standard, configurable for high, low, or deviation alarm types. This enables the SX48 to serve not only as a temperature controller but also as a basic safety monitoring device.
• Standby and Soft-Start: Standby mode suspends the control output—used during sensor replacement or maintenance—while soft-start gradually ramps the output to the setpoint, reducing thermal shock on heating elements and preventing inrush current spikes.

Compact Design for Panel Integration

• IP65 Front Panel: The front panel is rated IP65 for protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making the SX48 suitable for installation in industrial environments where washdown or dust exposure occurs.
