The ECI is a digital weighing controller by ESIT for industrial filling, batching, dosing, and checkweighing lines. It reads up to 10 strain-gauge load cells through a 24-bit sigma-delta ADC at up to 1600 Hz, applying the gResolver adaptive FIR filter to deliver stable weight readings even under vibration and dynamic load conditions. The 4.5-inch graphic LCD and five capacitive touch keys provide a menu-driven operator interface with multi-language support.

How does the ECI handle high-speed filling and batching?

The ECI-BA variant adds recipe management with 96 programmable recipes, up to 16 silo assignments, and dual-speed filling with automatic in-flight adjustment. It tracks gross/net weight, auto-tare, and tolerance per fill cycle. For checkweighing, the controller supports OIML Class XIII(1) and Y(a)/Y(b) configurations, continuously comparing product weight against user-defined limits and triggering relay outputs for accept/reject sorting.

What communication and fieldbus options are available?

Standard interfaces include RS232, USB for firmware updates and backup, and an external display output. Optional expansion modules add RS485 (Modbus RTU), Profibus DP, Profinet IO, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, and CANopen for direct integration into PLC and SCADA networks. A 4–20 mA / 0–10 V analog output card and digital I/O modules (4 in / 4 out, expandable to 8 in / 16 out) are also available. An internal relay card provides two banks of four relays each for direct actuator control.
