What does ESCP output protection mean?

Electronic Short Circuit Protection (ESCP) is self-healing — each output channel monitors its load current and shuts off within microseconds of detecting a short circuit. Once the fault is removed, the channel automatically restores output without operator intervention or fuse replacement. This reduces downtime in machines where field wiring faults are common — conveyor sensors, solenoid valves, stack lights — and eliminates the recurring cost and panel space of per-channel fusing. The module supports up to 200mA of 24VDC user power for field sensors, drawn from the same supply that powers the output drivers.

How many expansion modules can be used?

Each VersaMax Micro base controller supports up to four expansion modules in any mix — discrete input, discrete output, combination I/O, analog, RTD/thermocouple, or the IC200UMM002 motion module. The IC200UEO016 counts as one expansion unit. With up to four UEO016 modules on a Micro 64, the system reaches 64 outputs from expansion alone plus 24 built-in outputs for a total of 88 discrete outputs — sufficient for medium-complexity machines without a full-size modular PLC.
