The WASINO AA-1 is a two-spindle, two-turret turning center from DMG MORI with a Y-axis, built to integrate turning and milling into the smallest floor space. Stainless-steel covers and pre-tensioned ball screws hold thermal displacement to 5 µm on a cold start.

Why chase thermal displacement on a small part?

A small turned part has little material to spare — a few microns of spindle growth turns a passing diameter into scrap. The AA-1's pre-tensioned ball screws and stainless covers hold cold-start thermal displacement to 5 µm, so an optical or medical part stays in tolerance through the whole run, not just after the machine warms up.
