The Hyperturn 65 Powermill is EMCO's multitasking mill-turn center with main and counter spindles, a dedicated milling spindle, and B and Y axes. Both tool turrets work on both spindles, and a 40- or 80-slot chain magazine keeps tools ready.

Why a dedicated milling spindle instead of a driven turret?

A driven-turret tool tops out at a few kilowatts, so heavy multi-sided milling pushes the part to a machining center. The Powermill's 22 kW, 12,000 rpm milling spindle cuts pockets and surfaces in the same clamping that turned the part — the reason a complex housing comes off complete instead of travelling between machines.
