The S65 is EMCO's inclined-bed CNC lathe with driven tools, built for bar and chuck machining. A 12-station VDI 30 turret carries 12 driven tools, and the A2-6 spindle turns 310 mm with 18 kW and 192 Nm on an extremely solid machine bed.

Why driven tools on a bar lathe?

A bar part with cross-holes and flats normally leaves the lathe for a machining center, losing its datum in the transfer. The S65's driven turret mills, drills and taps in the same clamping that turned the part, so a 65 mm bar part comes off complete — no second setup, no accumulated error.
