The WY-100II is Nakamura-Tome's twin-spindle, twin-turret multi-tasking lathe, with a Y-axis on both turrets as standard. The opposed 6-inch spindles work upper and lower tools simultaneously, and tool capacity reaches 48 stations across the two turrets.

Why twin spindles and twin turrets for small precision parts?

A single-spindle machine cuts one end, then waits while the part is flipped and re-chucked. The WY-100II machines the front and back at once with upper and lower turrets on the left and right spindles, so a small medical or connector part is finished in one balanced cycle instead of two — the throughput a high-volume small part needs.
