The AD35 is Anyang Xinsheng's large-bore slant-bed CNC lathe on a 45-degree one-piece cast bed. An A2-8 headstock opens a 92 mm spindle bore, and a 12-station hydraulic turret turns workpieces up to 550 mm in diameter and 3,000 mm long.

Why does spindle bore decide whether a lathe fits the job?

A deep-bore or long-bar part has to pass through the spindle, and a small-bore machine can only grab the end — the bore then has to be finished in a second operation. The AD35's 92 mm bore lets the stock run through, so the bore and the OD are machined in one setup, on one datum.
