Product Description
The OPTIMAB 350 is SOMAB's inclined-bed CNC lathe built on a reconstituted-granite monobloc base, with a 12-station VDI 30 turret and a 5,000 rpm cartridge spindle on super-precision ball bearings. Live tools and a C-axis are available for mill-turn work.
Why a granite bed instead of cast iron?
Cast iron conducts heat about fifty times faster than granite, so a cast bed grows with the shop temperature and the part size drifts through the shift. The OPTIMAB 350's granite base stays geometrically stable, damping vibration and holding the 410 mm swing in tolerance as the day warms up.
- 410 mm swing, 52 mm bar capacity
- A1-6 spindle, 5,000 rpm, 13 kW
- 12-station VDI 30 turret
- Reconstituted-granite monobloc bed
Against a cast-iron bed, the granite base trades a little weight for thermal and vibration stability — the difference a long precision run notices.
