The SPRINT 50 is DMG MORI's production turning center on a vertical bed, built for bar machining of parts up to 50 mm. Main and counter spindles run at 7,000 rpm, and up to three VDI 25 turrets carry 36 driven tools with a Y-axis on every turret.

Why three turrets on a bar machine?

A two-turret machine cuts two faces at once, but the third feature still waits its turn. The SPRINT 50's three turrets split the work across both spindles — with an optional B-axis for negative-angle features — so a complex part is finished in one cycle instead of several.
