The 6SL3520-1XH21-1AF0 is the 1.1 kW entry point of the SINAMICS G115D wall-mounted distributed drive family with PROFINET, housed in the FSA fanless frame. At 6.2 A output and just 380 mm wide, it brings TIA Portal network integration to fractional-horsepower conveyor sections — feeder belts, small roller tables, and diverter modules.

PROFINET at 1.1 kW — why network the smallest drive?

Traditionally, drives below 2.2 kW were commissioned via keypad or DIP switches and left alone. The AF0 variant changes that equation: a single RJ45 connection carries speed setpoint, actual speed, motor current, and fault diagnostics back to the PLC over PROFIdrive. For an OEM shipping standardized conveyor modules, this means every drive on the line — even the 1.1 kW units — appears in the TIA Portal project tree with the same commissioning workflow as the larger drives. No separate software tool, no keypad menu navigation, no drive that sits invisible to the SCADA system.

FSA fanless — no moving parts, no maintenance

The FSA frame dissipates 1.1 kW of variable-frequency drive losses entirely through natural convection via its finned aluminum enclosure. No cooling fan means no bearing to wear out, no air filter to clog, and silent operation. 24 V DC consumption is approximately 250 mA — half the draw of a fan-cooled FSB or FSC variant — which reduces the sizing burden on the control power supply when multiple small drives share a common 24 V rail.
