The GEMÜ 202 is a direct-operated 2/2-way normally closed solenoid valve engineered specifically for corrosive and high-purity fluid handling. Its body is machined from PVC-U or PVDF thermoplastic — materials widely used in chemical processing, water treatment, electroplating, and semiconductor wet benches — eliminating the corrosion vulnerability of metal valve bodies. The defining feature of the 202 is its PTFE bellows seal: a flexible PTFE membrane hermetically separates the solenoid actuator from the process medium, backed by a secondary safety diaphragm. This double-barrier design prevents fugitive emissions and protects the solenoid from chemical attack, even with aggressive acids, alkalis, and solvents.

What makes the 202 service-friendly?

GEMÜ designed the 202 for maintenance without process interruption. The union nut between the actuator and valve body unscrews by hand — no tools required — allowing the complete solenoid and diaphragm assembly to be lifted off for cleaning or replacement while the valve body remains in the pipeline. The DIN EN 175301-803 Form A electrical connector (PG 11 cable gland) unplugs without disturbing wiring. An optional CONEXO RFID chip embedded in the valve body stores identification, serial number, and maintenance history for automated asset tracking in validated pharmaceutical and food-grade installations. The 202 carries EAC conformity and optional UL Recognized certification for the US market.
