Product Description

The 9600A is Schneider Electric's sanitary magnetic flow sensor - a crevice-free, PFA-lined stainless tube built for food, beverage, pharma, and biotech lines that must survive CIP and SIP.

Why does a flow meter have to be sanitary?

A general mag meter has liners and crevices that trap bacteria and fail 3-A audits - the 9600A is certified 3-A, EHEDG, and FDA with a reinforced-PFA liner that resists vacuum and cleaning cycles. The alternative is a standard meter followed by a manual teardown clean, which stops the line.

How accurate is it, and which transmitter?

Accuracy depends on the transmitter you pair: ±0.2% with IMT33A, ±0.3% with IMT31A, ±0.5% with IMT30A, all bidirectional. The alternative - an integrated meter - locks you to one accuracy class whether you need it or not.

What fluids can it actually measure?

It handles any conductive liquid down to about 1 µS/cm - ultrapure water, slurries with entrained solids, dosing and batching - without pressure drop. The alternative - vortex - can't read low-conductivity or sanitary fluids at all.
