Product Description
The Carbolite Gero CC-T1 is a programmable temperature regulator with a 4.3″ colour touchscreen interface, designed for precise control of laboratory and industrial furnaces, ovens, and thermal processing equipment. It supports up to 24 programmable segments—each configurable as ramp, step, or dwell—per profile, with storage for up to 10 user-defined profiles. The combination of Ethernet connectivity, CSV data logging to USB, and a real-time clock with scheduled start and estimated end times makes the CC-T1 suitable for both unattended operation and fully documented process traceability in research, quality assurance, and production environments.

Precise Multi-Segment Temperature Programming
- 24 Segments per Program: Each of the 10 stored profiles can contain up to 24 segments, with each segment independently configurable as a ramp to a target temperature, a dwell (hold) at a specific temperature for a defined period, or a step (instantaneous temperature change). This enables the creation of complex thermal profiles—such as a controlled ramp to a sintering temperature followed by a multi-stage annealing and cool-down sequence—all programmed directly on the touchscreen without requiring external software.
- Real-Time Clock with Scheduled Start: The integrated real-time clock allows operators to program a delayed start time for a profile. On completion, the controller displays both the stop date and time. For long-duration programs (e.g., a 72-hour de-binding cycle), the controller can display an estimated program end date and time while the program is running, enabling better scheduling of laboratory workflow and personnel.
- Temperature Calibration: A single-point offset calibration allows adjustment for thermocouple drift or sensor placement errors, ensuring that the displayed temperature matches the actual process temperature at the point of measurement interest.
Advanced Control and Communication
- Ethernet Connectivity (Standard): The built-in Ethernet port enables direct network communication for remote setpoint adjustment, program selection, and real-time temperature monitoring from a PC or LIMS. This eliminates the need for separate RS-232/RS-485 converters or proprietary communication gateways.
- CSV Data Logging to USB: Temperature data can be logged in CSV format directly to a USB memory stick, either manually initiated by the operator or configured to start automatically when a profile begins execution. This provides a transportable, analysis-ready data file for spreadsheets, quality control software, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- 3-Zone Control Capability: The CC-T1 can provide either retransmission of the master setpoint to slave controllers in multi-zone furnaces, or independent control of two additional temperature zones. This is particularly valuable for gradient-controlled tube furnaces and multi-zone chamber furnaces where uniform temperature distribution across the work zone is critical.
Safety Features and Access Control
- Over-Temperature Protection (Optional): An independent over-temperature controller provides a secondary, hard-wired safety cut-off that operates independently of the primary CC-T1 controller. If the primary controller fails and the furnace exceeds the over-temperature limit, the secondary controller immediately cuts power to the heating elements, preventing damage to the furnace, the workload, or the laboratory environment.
- 3-Level User Security: Access to controller functions is managed through three distinct user levels—Operator, Supervisor, and Administrator—each with configurable permissions. Operators can start and stop programs and view current status; Supervisors can edit profiles and access calibration functions; Administrators have full access including security settings and critical parameter configuration. This prevents accidental or unauthorised changes to validated thermal profiles in regulated environments.
- Alarm and Event Outputs: Configurable alarm outputs can be assigned to trigger external devices—such as a door lock solenoid, an audible alarm, or a remote indicator—when specific program events occur. Temperature alarm thresholds can be set independently for each profile, and alarm events are recorded in the data log for later review.
Applications
- Laboratory muffle and tube furnaces in research and quality assurance laboratories
- Material science thermal processing: sintering, annealing, quenching, and controlled cooling profiles
- Industrial ovens and heat treatment equipment requiring traceable temperature data logging
- Multi-zone temperature control in gradient furnaces for specialised thermal processing
- Any laboratory or industrial thermal process requiring programmable temperature profiles, multi-level user access, and documented traceability
