The Alicat Scientific Whisper MCW series mass flow controller combines innovative laminar flow technology with low-drop proportional control valves and high-sensitivity differential pressure sensors to achieve full-scale pressure drops as low as 3.6 mbar (0.052 psi). This exceptionally low pressure drop makes the MCW series particularly well-suited to applications with minimal differential pressure availability, such as leak checking, gas analysis and totalizing, or natural gas applications.

Flow ranges are available from 0.5 standard cubic centimeters per minute to 500 standard liters per minute with a 200:1 turndown ratio. Basic accuracy is ±0.8% of reading ±0.2% of full scale, with a remarkably fast start-up time and response time of just 10 milliseconds. Instruments are calibrated and ready for use with 20 gases and 10 gas blends.

The MCW Series measures pressure, temperature and volumetric flow in addition to mass flow, meaning fewer instruments to buy and install. All measured parameters are displayed in real time on the digital display, with any parameter selectable for center-screen focus. The push button interface allows easy configuration without computers or scripts. Gas Select allows users to select from 30 gases and gas blends via the display or RS-232 interface.

User tunable PID valve tuning allows optimization for specific applications. The controller can be equipped with an Alicat 9V battery pack to serve as a stand-alone secondary calibration standard. Multiple analog inputs and outputs are available in addition to RS-232 digital I/O. Alicat's patented technology with fixed internal components ensures high consistency and repeatability.
