Product Description

The Extech PRC30 is a multifunction process calibrator that provides precision thermocouple simulation and measurement for calibrating thermometers, transmitters, controllers, and recorders. The palm-sized unit features a double-molded housing and a large dot-matrix backlit LCD display for easy reading in various lighting conditions .

The PRC30 sources and measures eight thermocouple types: J, K, T, E, C, R, S, and N, with cold junction compensation (CJC) of 0.03°C per °C. It can display output in °C, °F, or mV, and features up to five user-adjustable calibration presets for fast, repeatable calibrations .

In addition to thermocouple functions, the PRC30 measures DC process signals including current (0-24mA) and voltage (0-20V). It provides 24V loop power for 2-wire current loop applications, with current output capability of 24mA DC at 1000Ω load. Accuracy is ±(0.01% + 1 digit) for current and voltage measurements .

The unit features zero adjustment with auto-zero when powering on and changing modes, standard banana I/O ports, and a mini thermocouple connector. It is powered by six AA batteries for extended work cycles or by the included 100-240V AC universal adapter for continuous operation. The complete kit includes test leads, alligator clips, thermocouple calibration cable, universal calibration cable, and hard carrying case .
