The RKI Instruments GX-6100 is a handheld multi-gas detector capable of simultaneously monitoring up to 6 gases. In addition to the standard four confined space gases (combustibles, O2, CO, H2S), it has two additional smart channels that accept PID, PPM, IR, or super toxic sensors. The updated model can measure combustible gases in the PPM range and in %volume within the same monitor.

When equipped with a PID sensor, the GX-6100 includes a library of over 600 VOC gases to choose from as standard. Selection is easy with a personalized favorites list of 30 commonly used VOCs and a list of the 8 most recently used VOCs. A benzene-specific version is available using a pre-filter tube for detecting low levels of benzene. Four PID sensors are available (10.0eV, 10.6eV low/high range, and 11.7eV), and any combination of two PID sensors can be installed. The PID sensors are also resistant to humidity.

The GX-6100 has a rugged design built for extremely rough environments, with an IP67 rating and a removable impact-resistant rubber boot. It features a strong internal sample pump with a 100ft sample range, a large auto-rotating LCD display, and an LED flashlight. Alarms are easily seen from multiple perspectives with 5 bright LED lights on three sides of the instrument, complemented by a 95dB audible alarm and vibration alarm. Safety features include a man-down alarm and a panic alarm.
