The 6SL3520-1XH65-5AF0 is the PROFINET variant of the G115D 5.5 kW FSC drive under the 1XH65 sub-code. With PROFIdrive communication over standard industrial Ethernet, it brings full TIA Portal integration to a 26.4 A drive that powers the workhorse conveyor sections — accumulation zones, merge tables, and inclined belts in automotive, logistics, and food-and-beverage lines.

PROFINET at 5.5 kW — the networked workhorse

5.5 kW is the power level where conveyor drives transition from supporting roles to main-line duty. A 5.5 kW section is often the pacing section for an entire conveyor zone — if it stops, upstream and downstream sections stop with it. The PROFINET interface turns this drive from an isolated motor controller into a networked asset: the PLC reads actual speed, motor current, DC-link voltage, and heatsink temperature in real time. If motor current trends upward due to a degrading roller bearing, the SCADA historian catches the trend before the bearing seizes. If the heatsink temperature rises due to a clogged fan filter, maintenance receives an alert before the drive trips on overtemperature. This is the diagnostic depth that turns a reactive maintenance model into a predictive one — and it is the reason the AF0 suffix exists at every power level in the G115D range.

FSC — the top G115D frame

The FSC frame accommodates both 5.5 kW and 7.5 kW power stages in the same 425 mm housing width. The integrated fan runs continuously at approximately 540–580 mA from the 24 V DC rail. The integrated braking chopper (rated for a 40 Ω minimum external resistor at 20 W continuous) is included across all FSC variants, giving this 5.5 kW PROFINET drive the hardware for cyclic braking duty on declining conveyor sections — with or without the AB0-specific control interface.
