Product Description
The NR8000 from Nolden Regelsysteme GmbH is a universal multi-zone hot-runner temperature control system for plastic injection molding. Available in compact formats from 4 to 32 zones and tower configurations scaling to 144 zones, it uses proportional zero-voltage Triac switching (up to 35 A rated) with 0.25% full-scale accuracy on Type J (0–400°C) or Type K (0–800°C) thermocouple inputs. Operation is through a 7" or 10" projected capacitive glass touchscreen — 15" or 21" on tower models — with optional Wi-Fi and smartphone/tablet control.
How does evoControl adaptive regulation work?
Nolden's evoControl® algorithm uses neural-network-based self-tuning that automatically adapts control parameters per zone during operation. Unlike fixed-gain PID, evoControl continuously learns each zone's thermal characteristics and adjusts response to minimize overshoot and settling time — particularly valuable when mold geometries create uneven thermal loading across zones. Synchronized heating brings all zones to setpoint simultaneously to prevent mechanical stress on the mold from uneven thermal expansion. Soft-start is programmable per zone (time, power percentage, and temperature), and a boost function temporarily increases output to clear frozen nozzles without manual intervention.
What diagnostics and integration features are included?
Built-in mold diagnosis monitors heater current per zone, detects wiring faults (cable breakage, short-circuit, polarity error), and provides a tracing function for troubleshooting. The mold memory feature stores all configuration parameters for quick restart after mold changes. OPC-UA communication per EUROMAP 82.2 enables direct data exchange with injection molding machine controllers. USB CSV export, cloud connectivity via the NOLDEN Data Portal NOAH for process data archiving, and optional valve gate control (hydraulic, pneumatic, or servo) extend the NR8000 from a temperature controller to a complete mold management platform.
