If motor cables run long, can I still protect the windings?

Yes — this variant keeps DC terminals on the DC link, so an external du/dt filter or braking chopper connects directly when cable reflections threaten winding insulation on long runs. The unfiltered sibling without DC terminals (the 0UP0) drops that option to reach the lowest cost, but loses the long-cable safeguard.
