The EMKO Elektronik IPERTU Plus is a compact, high-speed digital input PLC that serves as the CPU core of the broader IPERTU process control platform. Engineered for Industry 4.0 applications, this slim DIN rail-mounted controller integrates a powerful processor, versatile I/O, and unique remote connectivity features within a footprint of just 25×100×70 mm. It is designed to function both as a standalone intelligent controller and as a networked node in a distributed automation system, offering scalable modularity and open communication standards.

At its heart, the IPERTU Plus delivers exceptional processing speed, with a base CPU instruction time of 12 nanoseconds. It provides 9 digital inputs, each capable of being configured in software for either NPN or PNP sensors, with a response time of just 2.5 microseconds. The 6 transistor outputs are PNP type, offering a reaction time of 5 microseconds and a per-channel current capacity of 0.3A. For motion and high-speed counting applications, the module includes three dedicated 200kHz high-speed counter inputs supporting A/B/Z encoder signals and three independent 100kHz pulse outputs. The module also features built-in data logging capabilities via its USB port and a real-time calendar clock.

Connectivity is a cornerstone of the IPERTU Plus design. A standard Ethernet 10/100 port enables integration into plant-wide networks. Serial communication is handled via one RS-232 and one RS-485 port, with the latter supporting the Modbus RTU protocol for seamless connection to HMIs, SCADA systems, and other industrial devices. The modular architecture allows the system to scale up to 268 I/O points by daisy-chaining up to 16 compatible expansion modules. This flexibility ensures that the IPERTU Plus can be deployed in a wide range of applications, from simple machine control to complex process automation requiring extensive sensor and actuator interfaces.

A standout feature of the IPERTU Plus is its WQC (Web Quick Connect) functionality, which provides integrated Web SCADA capabilities. This allows operators and engineers to access and monitor the PLC's status, I/O states, and process variables from any location using a standard web browser—without the need for any additional software, programming, or dedicated HMI hardware. This significantly reduces the total cost of ownership for remote monitoring applications. All control logic is developed using the IPERTU.IDE software, a dedicated integrated development environment that supports ladder diagram programming and is designed to simplify the creation, debugging, and maintenance of automation projects on the IPERTU platform.
