The VHC400 is a vertical twin-spindle CNC lathe from Chongqing Machine Tool, with two parallel vertical spindles and dual turrets. It targets large, thin, heavy and irregular parts for mining, construction, heavy-truck, motor and pump work, especially after heat treatment.

Why turn a heavy part vertically instead of horizontally?

In a horizontal chuck, a heavy or thin blank sags under its own weight and the operator fights gravity to load it. In the VHC400 the part sits face-up, gravity seats it against the fixture, and two spindles turn both sides in parallel — so a quenched ring or a large disc is held firmly and machined on both faces without a re-chuck.
