Product Description
Most grippers lock a robot into one workpiece; the FLEXhand is NACHI answer to everything that changes between shifts. The gripping stroke adjusts electrically across a wide window, servo fingers close at up to 735 N or gently enough for fragile parts, and the same closed loop measures each workpiece as it grips - relative size verification against a master gauge, useful for tightly packed bin picking where parts arrive in no particular orientation.
What happens to the part when power drops?
Nothing: brake-grip mechanics hold the workpiece through E-Stop events and full power loss, so overhead transfers and vertical approaches stay safe without pneumatic check valves. The airless design also trims running cost - no compressed air consumption at all, with servo grip and brake grip selectable per application, which is where the energy argument over conventional pneumatic grippers from suppliers such as SCHUNK lands.
One gripper or a tool changer?
The FLEXhand range spans the FH150F2 and FH150F3 two- and three-finger versions and a 360 mm stroke model, 8.3 to 24 kg on the wrist, IP65 sealed for wet or dusty cells, and 2-axis motion the robot controller treats as extra axes. Paired with NACHI vision, one FLEXhand runs bin picking, machine tending and assembly across part families that would otherwise demand a gripper rack and an automatic tool changer - fewer interfaces, fewer failure points, faster format changes.
