Product Description

The KROHNE OPTIFLUX 5000 electromagnetic flow sensor is accurate, hard-wearing, and robust. This performance results from a special flow tube design with conical parts that streamline distorted flow profiles. Leading test institutes use the OPTIFLUX 5000 as their master meter for calibration.

The sensor features a ceramic flow tube with fused-in-place cermet or platinum electrodes that are bonded into the tube, ensuring a leakproof seal. The stainless steel housing provides durability. It is fully vacuum resistant and offers repeatability better than 0.06%. Available in flanged versions from 1/2 to 10 inches and compact versions from 1/10 to 4 inches .

The 3x100% diagnostics overcome drawbacks of SIL2-certified equipment by detecting errors unrecognized under SIL2, indicating erroneous results (e.g., from gas bubbles), and correcting errors in accuracy and linearity. This provides better assurance than normal SIL2 certification.

With just one signal converter and a wide range of flow sensors, the OPTIFLUX 5000 covers applications from simple water measurement to corrosive or abrasive products and pulp in the paper industry. Applications include precise dosing, acids, alkalies, pastes, slurries, high solids content, and aggressive media in chemical, paper & pulp, water & wastewater, metals & mining, food & beverage, and machinery industries.

The ceramic flow tube provides absolute corrosion resistance and is fully vacuum rated. The conical flow profile optimization reduces upstream straight-run requirements, making the OPTIFLUX 5000 suitable for tight installations where conventional flow meters cannot achieve rated accuracy.
