The SIMEX MultiCon CMC-99 is a Linux-based multi-channel controller and data recorder that consolidates PID control, ON/OFF control, time and profile control, data logging, and web-based visualization into a single panel-mount device. It is designed for industrial applications requiring simultaneous measurement, control, and recording of temperature, current, voltage, flow, humidity, and other process variables across multiple channels.

Modular I/O Architecture — Configure Your Own Controller

  • 27 Available I/O Modules: Users choose up to 3 modules from a library of 27 input/output variants. This modular approach allows the CMC-99 to be configured as a 48-channel temperature monitor for a heat treatment furnace, a 12-zone PID controller for a plastics extrusion line, a pump station alarm controller, or a multi-loop process recorder—all from the same hardware platform.
  • Universal Input Capability: Depending on the selected modules, the CMC-99 accepts thermocouples (K, S, J, T, N, R, B, E), RTDs (Pt100, Pt500, Pt1000, Ni100, Cu50), analogue current/voltage signals (0/4-20 mA, 0-10 V), and digital/counter inputs. This eliminates the need to stock multiple controller variants for different sensor types in a multi-process facility.
  • Flexible Output Options: Available outputs include 4-20 mA analogue, SPDT relays (1 A or 5 A at 250 V AC), SSR drive outputs, and 24 V DC supply for loop-powered transmitters. Each output can be independently assigned to control actions, alarm thresholds, or retransmission of process values.

Linux-Based Control and Data Recording

  • Advanced Control Functions: The CMC-99 integrates PID, ON/OFF, and profile-based control with logging of setpoints, excitations, and current states of controlled objects. Logical channels allow creation of complex control sequences involving multiple inputs and outputs, such as cascade control, ratio control, and interlock logic, all configured through the touchscreen interface.
  • Built-In Data Logger: With 4 GB of internal memory, the CMC-99 records process data at programmable intervals from 0.1 seconds to 24 hours. Recorded data is stored in CSV format and can be exported via USB drive or accessed via the Ethernet web server, providing traceability for quality systems and process diagnostics without external recording equipment.

Communication Architecture for Distributed Systems

  • Ethernet with Web Server and Modbus TCP: The enhanced ACM and ETU communication modules provide an HTTP web server for browser-based remote monitoring and configuration, plus Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU (master and slave) for integration with PLCs, SCADA, and MES systems. Three isolated RS-485 interfaces in the ACM version allow the CMC-99 to function as a communication hub between different network segments.
  • USB Host and Device Ports: Front and rear USB Host ports support direct connection of a keyboard and mouse for comfortable configuration, as well as USB flash drives for data export, firmware updates, and parameter backup. The USB Device port provides a direct PC connection for programming and maintenance.

Compact Design for Panel Integration

  • Standard 1/4 DIN Format: The 96 × 96 × 100 mm housing fits standard panel cut-outs (90.5 × 90.5 mm), making it a direct replacement for traditional panel-mount controllers and recorders. The modular DIN-rail mounting option is available for control cabinet integration.
  • Front Protection Options: IP40 as standard (with front USB Host exposed), IP54 with the optional STD-99/141 transparent door, and IP65 front with the integrated sealing frame. The NORYL-GFN2S E1 case material provides chemical resistance and flame retardancy.
  • Wide-Range Power Supply: A single unit operates from 85 to 260 V AC/DC or, optionally, from 16-35 V AC / 19-50 V DC, covering global industrial mains voltages without variant selection.
