Product Description
The Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 755 is the current 750-Series flagship and the named migration target for the high-power 700S frames Rockwell discontinued. It spans V/Hz through servo-grade permanent-magnet control with dual-port EtherNet/IP and the highest integrated safety ratings, so one drive family covers general duty through integrated motion.
Why 755 is the default for new high-power drives?
The 755 is the current 750-Series flagship and the named migration target for the 700S frames Rockwell discontinued at 200 Hp and above. It runs V/Hz, FORCE vector, sensorless vector, and permanent-magnet motor control, so one drive family covers general duty through servo-grade motion. Choose it for any new build that might grow into integrated motion or needs the highest safety rating. The alternative — reviving a 700S frame — buys a discontinued platform with a closing spares window.
What does dual-port EtherNet/IP with DLR actually give the line?
Two EtherNet/IP ports let the drive sit in a Device Level Ring, so a single cable cut becomes a ring heal rather than a dead node — the motor keeps running while the fault is flagged. That resilience matters on a multi-drive line where one isolated drive stalls a cell. The alternative — a single-port drive on a star — blanks that node the moment its one cable is cut, halting the process.
How high does the safety rating go, and why?
The 755 carries Safe Torque-Off at SIL3 / PLe / Cat 3 and Safe Speed Monitor at SIL3 / PLe / Cat 4, both integrated — no external safety relay needed to prove the motor is stopped or slowed. On a robotic or press application that lets the cell enter a guarded state without dropping the whole drive. The alternative — an external STO relay — adds devices, wiring, and a separate certification step to reach the same rating.
