The flat surface geometry packs more power in a smaller bundle with lower watt density, making these heaters particularly effective for petroleum-based liquids where coking and scaling are concerns. The flat profile allows fluid flow to create a wiping effect that helps break deposits off the heater surface.

Installation and Maintenance

Easy installation and maintenance are key features of Watlow flange immersion heaters. Heater change-out requires only unbolting the flange and replacing the unit, minimizing equipment downtime. Integral thermowells allow temperature sensor insertion and replacement without draining the tank. Available with ANSI/ANSI compatible flanges from 3 to 14 inches (custom sizes up to 24 inches available), these heaters offer extensive customization. Terminal enclosures include standard general purpose (NEMA 1) for easy wiring access, with moisture-resistant and explosion-proof options available. Optional SPST and DPST thermostats provide integrated temperature control. All units undergo inspection and seal leakage testing prior to shipment.
