Watlow 375 high temperature strip heaters are constructed with a coiled nickel-chromium element wire centered within the heater and embedded in compacted magnesium oxide (MgO)-based insulation. This construction creates excellent heat conductivity and high dielectric strength while ensuring long service life in demanding thermal applications. The heater is enclosed in either aluminized steel or 430 stainless steel sheathing, depending on temperature requirements.

Temperature Capabilities

The aluminized steel sheath option minimizes heat-up time and achieves maximum operating temperatures of 1100°F (595°C), making it suitable for food warming, freeze protection, and tank heating applications. For higher temperature requirements, the 430 stainless steel sheath option provides operation up to 1200°F (650°C), ideal for dies and mold heating, autoclaves, ovens, and telecommunications equipment.

Performance Specifications

With watt densities up to 100W/in² (15.5W/cm²), these strip heaters deliver substantial heating power in a compact 0.375-inch (9.5mm) thickness profile. UL approval up to 240VAC and CSA approval up to 600VAC ensure compliance with North American electrical safety standards. The combination of high watt density and slim profile makes these heaters suitable for applications where space is limited but significant heat output is required.
