The CAREL c.pCO represents the cutting edge of the company's pCO family of programmable controllers, specifically engineered as a powerful and flexible solution for managing complex HVAC/R applications. Designed for OEMs in the chiller, heat pump, air handling unit (AHU), and rooftop markets, the c.pCO distinguishes itself through a unique combination of advanced hardware features, deep software integration, and a strong focus on networked connectivity. The controller is available in multiple sizes and can be mounted on a DIN rail or panel, offering a compact footprint of just 4 DIN modules for space-constrained applications.
A key differentiator for the c.pCO is its integrated driver for bipolar electronic expansion valves (EEVs), featuring proprietary Ultracap technology. This ensures that in the event of a power failure, the EEV can be reliably driven to a fully closed position, enhancing system safety and protecting the compressor. The controller is a native BACnet Building Controller (B-BC) and is certified by the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL), guaranteeing seamless and reliable integration into any BACnet-compliant Building Management System (BMS). The c.pCO platform is built for flexibility. Its I/O system leverages a CAREL proprietary ASIC to offer up to 10 universal channels, which can be independently configured via software as analog inputs (NTC, PT100/500/1000, 0-10V, 4-20mA), digital inputs, or analog outputs (0-10V, PWM). This minimizes hardware variants and simplifies inventory.
