Product Description
The Watlow Eurotherm EPC3000 series is a high-performance panel-mount programmable single loop PID controller designed for process and temperature control applications. It combines industry-leading control and measurement performance with simplicity of use, flexibility, and robust cybersecurity features. The EPC3000 is the recommended upgrade or replacement for Eurotherm 2200 and 2400 temperature controllers.

Accuracy & Control Performance
The EPC3000 delivers exceptional accuracy with ±0.1% of reading input accuracy and low thermal drift, ensuring precise and consistent control over long periods without calibration drift. The enhanced Eurotherm PID algorithm provides fast response with minimal overshoot, aided by a cutback function. Rapid rise to operating temperature and low oscillation help improve production yield. PID settings can be adjusted for specific process operating regions, with 2 PID sets standard and an optional expansion to 8 sets.
Connectivity & Cybersecurity
The EPC3000 controller range is Ethernet enabled as standard and is the first Eurotherm controller designed and certified to meet the stringent cybersecurity requirements of Achilles® Communications Robustness Testing Level 1. Ethernet communications are supported via a standard RJ45 connector, providing fast access to process and diagnostic information and connectivity to external PLCs, SCADA systems, and IIoT technologies. Modbus RTU serial communication is also supported, along with optional Ethernet/IP and BACnet protocols.
Programming & Functionality
The EPC3000 features user function block wiring, including math, logic, and advanced control functions, enabling customization for complex applications. It supports up to 20 ramp/soak program profiles, making it suitable for batch processing and thermal cycles. The Factory Mutual (FM) approved temperature limit function can be used as a standalone high/low limit or combined with PID control in a single panel-mount device.
Flexible I/O & Configuration
The controller supports 1 or 2 universal inputs, configurable for thermocouples, RTDs, mA, mV, volts, Zirconia probes, and pyrometers. A PC-based configuration app, Eurotherm iTools, may be downloaded free of charge for use with Ethernet or Serial Modbus, or with an optional USB connector that powers the instrument for convenient desktop configuration.
Environmental & Approvals
The EPC3000 offers standard panel sealing of IP65/NEMA 12, with a washdown bezel option providing IP66/NEMA 4X protection (indoor use). It meets AMS2750F and CQI-9 accuracy requirements for aerospace heat treatment and is FM approved for limit functions. The controller is certified to CE, UL, and other international standards, ensuring suitability for global applications.
