Product Description
The PIE 541 Frequency Calibrator with Totalizer is the essential tool for calibration, testing, and diagnosing frequency-based devices such as turbine meters, frequency counters, vibration systems, tachometers, flow meters, vortex shedders, and integrators. Designed for shop, plant, and field use, it combines all expected frequency calibration features with unique time-saving innovations .
This calibrator offers exceptional ±0.005% of range accuracy across six frequency ranges, from 1 count per hour to 20.000 kHz. It can both source and read frequencies, with the ability to read a wide range of waveforms from 50 mV to 120 V peak. For sourcing, it generates sine and square waves with adjustable amplitude from 100 mV to 12 V peak-to-peak, with zero-based or zero crossing waveforms available. An LED indicator flashes in sync with the output frequency, allowing for easy adjustment of the trigger level and attenuation for proper gate triggering - also useful for calibrating optical pickups .
A key feature is its totalizer function, which eliminates the need for a stopwatch. When calibrating a totalizer, the PIE 541 can be set to automatically output a selected number of pulses (from 1 to 99999) over a selectable time period (1.0 to 100.0 minutes) and stop automatically when the selected number of pulses has been sent, precisely simulating the device under test. It also counts input pulses over a selectable time period .
The intuitive EZ-Dial knob allows easy adjustment of output by 1, with pressing down and turning selecting a faster dialing speed. The dual-action EZ-Check switch enables instant 0% and 100% span adjustments, with new values stored by pressing the EZ-Dial knob. It uses a standard 9V alkaline battery with superior battery life of 45 hours under typical continuous usage, and features easy access to the battery compartment. The unit is lightweight, rugged, and protected to 60V. Operating temperature range is -20°C to 60°C .
