Product Description

The PIE 434 Automated Diagnostic 4-20 mA Calibrator allows you to check, calibrate, and measure all current signal instruments in a 4-20 mA DC loop. It can be used at any access point in the loop, making it ideal for calibrating recorders, digital indicators, stroke valves, or any instruments receiving input from a 4-20 mA loop .

The 434 features loop diagnostic technology for quickly diagnosing ground faults and current leakage. This patented technology helps identify wiring problems that can cause erratic loop behavior, saving hours of troubleshooting time .

Automatic output stepping and ramping functions simplify calibration. Press and hold the dial to automatically step from 4-20 mA in two, three, or five steps, or choose a continuous ramp with selectable step/ramp times. The calibrator features high contrast graphic display with 0.315-inch digits and LED backlighting for use in low-light areas .

Accuracy is ≤ ± (0.01% of Reading + 0.002 mA) over the 0.000 to 24.000 mA range or -25.00 to 125.00% of 4-20 mA. Operating temperature range is -20°C to 60°C, and the unit includes a rubber boot, tilt stand, and battery compartment for fast changes. The rugged design withstands demanding industrial environments .
