Product Description
The Time Electronics 1030 MicroCal is a portable voltage and current calibrator designed for general purpose signal injection. It is suitable for voltage and current loop signal simulation as well as thermocouple simulation. With fast analog setting, it is a popular engineers field calibrator used in various applications across industries.
The 1030 provides three voltage ranges: 0-10mV (10µV resolution, 0.2% accuracy), 0-100mV (100µV resolution, 0.1% accuracy), and 0-1V (1mV resolution, 0.1% accuracy). Two current ranges are available: 0-10mA (10µA resolution, 0.2% accuracy) and 0-100mA (100µA resolution, 0.2% accuracy). Maximum output current is 20mA on voltage ranges, with output resistance of 10Ω on the 10mV range and 0.2Ω on higher ranges.
An additional 0 to ±8V output can be obtained using the precision 1kΩ resistor supplied with the unit. The resistor connects across the output terminals with the 10mA current range selected, providing 10mV resolution and 0.3% of full scale accuracy. This extended capability makes the 1030 suitable for a wider range of testing applications.
The 1030 is designed for traditional analog control with a precision 10-turn dial that provides a conventional feel for selecting required outputs. Range selection is via a simple front panel switch. The unit is housed in a compact and durable case measuring 115 x 62 x 55 mm and weighing 0.24 kg, making it ideal for both laboratory and field use. It operates on a standard 9V PP3 battery with approximately 60 hours typical life, and an optional rechargeable battery pack is available.
Applications include testing measurement equipment, temperature controllers, and PLC analog input cards with mV or mA inputs. The 10mV range is ideal for thermocouple simulation, and the unit can be used for accurate measurements of low ohm values such as platinum resistance thermometers by using it as a current source and measuring voltage across the load.
