Why does the 4 kW FSB need a fan when the 3 kW FSB does not?

At 4 kW (10.2 A continuous, 20.4 A overload), power stage losses exceed what natural convection can dissipate through the FSB heatsink alone. An integrated fan provides forced-air cooling through the heatsink fins, adding 35 mm to the enclosure depth (169 mm vs 134 mm for fanless FSB). Weight increases modestly to 7.52 kg (from 7.12 kg). The fan is field-replaceable as a service part. 24 V DC control supply consumption rises to approximately 510 mA for the I/O variant — roughly double the fanless FSB current draw. This additional 24 V load must be accounted for in control panel power budgeting.

XH24 vs XM04 — same hardware, different catalog designation

XH24 and XM04 refer to the same physical hardware: both are 4 kW FSB fan-cooled drives. XH24 is the current catalog designation; XM04 is the earlier product generation code — identical situation to XH23/XM03 at 3 kW and XH60/XN00 in FSA.

Terminal-based digital/analog I/O for start/stop, speed setpoint, and status feedback. No fieldbus — suited for standalone conveyor sections with hardwired control. 24 V DC control supply: approximately 510 mA (higher due to integrated fan).
