The Dakota NDT ZX6-DL multi-echo thickness gauge is part of the ZX series, designed for rough industry conditions. It combines standard pulse-echo measurement with multi-echo through-paint mode (Echo-Echo), eliminating coating error without removal. Adjustable gain and auto time‑dependent gain are available in both modes.

Measurement ranges: Pulse-Echo 0.025–36in (0.63–914.4mm); Echo-Echo base metal 0.1–6in (2.54–152.4mm) with coating thickness up to 0.075in (1.905mm). Resolution is 0.001in (0.01mm). High speed scan (100Hz) allows scanning larger areas while maintaining reasonable thickness representation.

The on‑board data logger stores 10,000 readings in 40 files of 250 readings. USB‑C connector provides serial over USB for data transfer to spreadsheets. Features include 120MHz FPGA timing, 150‑volt square wave pulser, adjustable gain (40–52dB), and automatic V‑path correction. Factory calibration traceable to NIST, 5‑year warranty.
