The Dakota NDT RX8-DL sonic tester is an advanced ultrasonic thickness tester for automotive and racing industries. It measures cylinder walls, body panels, chassis tubing, roll cages, head ports, and windshields. A time-based B‑Scan displays a cross-section of the opposite surface, allowing users to see the back surface profile while scanning.

Measurement modes: Pulse-Echo (0.025–36in) for flaw, pit, and corrosion detection; Echo-Echo (0.100–4in) for chassis tubing with or without paint, including built‑in automatic gain control with 50dB range and selectable gain options. Resolution ±0.001in (0.01mm). Velocity range 0.012–0.73 in/μs (310–18,542 m/sec).
