The Krautkramer USM 36 features a 7 inch LCD display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels. Signals can be easily viewed and accurately interpreted. The USM 36 uses the familiar rotary knobs of previous models but the function keys have now been minimized into a simple, intuitive 6-key keyboard, allowing simple and efficient operation .

The DAC instrument package adds DAC, square wave pulser, and AWS D 1.1 calibration tool to the standard package. The S instrument package adds DGS, Phantom echo, backwall echo attenuation, a third gate ('C'), and a data logger. The instrument features a Color Leg Indicator in "live" A-Scan for Angle Beam Inspections, more than 13 hrs of battery life, and IP66 rating. Data can be stored on removable SD-card or USB memory stick .
