Product Description
The SINAMICS G115D 6SL3520-0XD00-7AF0 is a 0.75 kW (1.0 hp) wall-mounted distributed variable frequency drive designed for decentralized conveyor control in SIMATIC automation systems. As the entry-level power rating in the 0XD product family, this FSA-frame unit delivers 2.2 A of continuous output current at 380–480 V 3-phase with 200% overload capability (4.4 A peak) for high-starting-torque applications. The AF0 suffix designates the fully-featured configuration, bundling PROFINET/EtherNet/IP dual-port communication, a local/remote operator panel for on-machine commissioning, and daisy-chain connectivity via M12 communication ports and Q4/2 power cascading connectors.
FSA Frame — Compact Fanless Design. The FSA enclosure measures just 380 × 156 × 129 mm and weighs approximately 5.54 kg. It achieves natural-convection cooling without a fan, making it suitable for dusty or washdown-heavy food-and-beverage conveyor environments where fan intakes would clog. With an IP65/IP66/UL Type 4X ingress rating, the drive mounts directly on the machine frame close to the motor, eliminating long shielded motor cables and their associated EMC headaches. The integrated braking chopper handles regenerative energy from frequent start-stop conveyor cycles without external components.
AF0 Daisy-Chain Advantage. The AF0 variant includes both M12 (D-coded, 4-pin) communication daisy-chain ports and Q4/2 (7/8-inch, 5-pin) power daisy-chain connectors rated at 25 A continuous. This enables true line-topology wiring — one EtherNet/IP or PROFINET drop serves up to 32 nodes, and a single 400 V feeder powers multiple drives in sequence. For conveyor systems with dozens of zones, daisy-chaining dramatically reduces cable runs, junction boxes, and fieldbus node counts compared to star-wiring each drive back to a control cabinet.
Input vs. Output Current. The drive draws 1.99 A from the mains at 400 V (rated input current), while delivering 2.2 A to the motor (rated output current). The difference reflects drive losses (approximately 43 W). The 200% overload rating means the drive can supply 4.4 A for 3 seconds during acceleration or jam recovery — critical for inclined conveyors, merge tables, and accumulation zones where momentary torque demands exceed steady-state running conditions.
