You are wiring a 3 kW motor into a 200-240 V line-up and the PLC on the network is a SIMATIC. The 6SL3230-3YC18-0UF0 is the G120X that connects to it without a gateway: PROFINET is onboard, and the same port serves EtherNet/IP plants, so one drive covers both worlds.
How do I connect it to my PROFINET controller?
Plug the drive into the PROFINET network and it appears as a standard device in TIA Portal, addressed and commissioned like any SINAMICS on the bus. For sites that standardized on Rockwell or another EtherNet/IP platform, switch the protocol at the same port instead of buying a different drive.
Do I need an EMC filter for this unit?
This variant ships without an integrated EMC filter (suffix UF). In a typical industrial cabinet, fit an external C3 or C4 filter on the line side to keep conducted emissions within limits; the drive delivers its full 18.4 A rated output current at 3 kW regardless.
